I published an autobiographical novel, "To Come Full Circle". Through the story of my own immigration to Israel I described Lithuanian Jewry during the 1970s and the struggle of an eight year-old Jewish boy from Vilna who comes to Israel with his mother in 1971 and embarks on the wearing, difficult absorption process which begins in the southern desert town of Arad, includes service in the paratroops, the war in Lebanon, injury and return to Vilna in 1989 as a journalist for the "Ma'ariv" newspaper, looking for the father he has never met. The book, at times humorously and always poignantly, describes the struggle for acceptance as a full member of Israeli society. The book has been recommended by the Ministry of Defense, the Israel Defence Forces, the Jewish Agency, the Hebrew Book Association and has received favorable reviews in the Hebrew press. I have based lectures on it as part of my reserve duty, in which I speak to soldiers about immigration and Zionism, and, of course, my personal experiences. "To Come Full Circle" was translated into Russian some six years ago, and was published and distributed in Moscow by the Foreign Ministry's Liaison Office. Thousands of copies were distributed to Jewish Cultural Centers throughout the former Soviet Republics.
